About this book

Neural therapy (NT) has been considered a therapeutic tool, a medical practice and, recently, a complex medical system named neural therapeutic medicine (NTM). It is based on an understanding of the nervous system as a network that unifies and integrates the organism and coordinates all pathological and physiological states, maintaining and processing memories of irritative stimuli. Additionally, NTM understands the human being as a complex system, an open thermodynamic system, which behaves like an inseparable unity (considering psychological, emotional, physical, and environmental aspects) that can eco-self-organize. For this complex system, health and disease are adaptative dynamic processes influenced by several “external or internal” conditions (genetics, environmental, nutritional, social, occupational, etc.). NTM uses an injection of a neuraltherapeutic substance, which is a local anesthetic in lower concentrations (generally procaine), as a stimulus that modulates the irritations in the organism that are associated with disease.

This book intends to demonstrate that neural therapy has a diverse history of learning and practice, and to present its diverse therapeutic applications in different medical fields. It shows several approaches, including Russian and British Nervism, complexity sciences, social and community-based interventions, environmental considerations, interventions, and integration with psychotherapeutic tools from the perspective of Nervism. This volume shows a global perspective on neural therapeutic medicine, with contribution of authors from various countries.

Neuraltherapeutic Medicine – An Evolution of Neural Therapy is addressed not only for graduate students, residents, and health professionals (medical doctors, dentists, veterinarians) who want to initiate their learning in NTM, but also for experts and researchers who are looking for a deepening of their knowledge.
