About this book
This book offers an in-depth exploration of conduction system pacing, focusing on His bundle pacing and left bundle branch area pacing. Through meticulously detailed case reports, readers will gain a comprehensive understanding of the step-by-step implant procedures, supported by fluoro images, ECG traces, and EGM traces. Each case begins with a concise clinical history and baseline ECG, followed by a thorough walkthrough of the procedural steps, complete with expert tips and tricks. Concluding each report are key learning points and references to enhance further study.
The chapters delve into critical topics such as conduction system pacing in both narrow and wide QRS complexes, addressing bradycardia and cardiac resynchronization indications. The book also covers advanced techniques like 3D electroanatomical mapping and zero fluoroscopy approaches. Readers will discover insights into CSP lead extraction, offering a well-rounded perspective on this cutting-edge field. This collection invites readers to engage with complex questions surrounding the efficacy and innovation of conduction system pacing.
This essential resource is designed for cardiologists, electrophysiologists, and medical professionals involved in cardiac device implantation. It is also invaluable for researchers and students specializing in cardiac electrophysiology. With its detailed procedural insights and practical learning points, this book is a must-read for anyone seeking to advance their expertise in conduction system pacing. Whether you are a seasoned practitioner or an academic exploring the latest advancements in cardiac care, this volume provides the knowledge and tools necessary to excel in this dynamic field.

About the editors
Dr. Marcantoni pursued her medical studies at the University of Bologna, culminating in her graduation with highest honors (110/110 cum laude) in 2006 with a thesis focused on Heart Failure and Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy: Evaluation in Diabetic Patients. Following her graduation, she specialized in Cardiology at the University of Ferrara, achieving a score of 50/50 cum laude with a thesis on Remote Monitoring of Cardiac Implantable Defibrillators: the Ferrara Experience,. She then held a research grant at the University of Ferrara, working on the project Remote Monitoring for Implantable Defibrillators. During this time, she was awarded the Young Researcher Prize at the XVIII Annual Meeting of the Sammarinese Society of Cardiology in 2013. Since 2014, she has been serving as a Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist at Santa Maria della Misericordia Hospital in Rovigo, Italy. She further advanced her expertise in Cardiac Arrhythmia Management through a fellowship program in Brussels from 2017 to 2018. In 2018, she received the “Ideas of Luigi Padeletti” Prize at the National Congress of AIAC in Bologna. She also completed The Leadership and Innovation in Cardiac Arrhythmia Management) programme in Maastricht (DAS_CAM) from 2018 to 2020.
Dr. Francesco Zanon is Head of the Department of Cardiology, Interventional Electrophysiology and Cardiostimulation Unit at Santa Maria della Misericordia Hospital, Rovigo.
